An Enchanted Weekend & A Spooky Announcement

Hey there, Little Leaves! 🍁

First off, I want to apologize for missing yesterday's blog post! Things have been a little busy for me lately. I need busy though, busy is good to keep the mind off of other things! I'm here today, and I have some exciting things to share with you all!

Let's start with something a little magical! 🪄

If you've never been to the Renaissance Faire, what are you doing with your life?! It's the greatest place on Earth and my happy place!

I visited yesterday, and of course, I had to share the experience with you all!

Every time I go, I'm reminded more and more that I was born in the wrong era. As someone who absolutely adores fantasy, there's something so exciting about being surrounded by a world that feels like it came straight out of a storybook. The costumes, the setting, and all the little details make it such a fun experience.

Peep the photos below! You'll see me meeting the Sanderson sister, Hocus Pocus was always my favorite Halloween movie! You'll see my wonderful soon-to-be father in-law teaching me to use a bow and arrow, you'll also see A cute photo of me and my amazing fiance... I really wanted to keep that crown, but it was a prop. 😅 Lastly, you'll see a picture of me and a bunch of folks who dressed as Baldur's Gate 3 characters!! They looked so cool, and they were extremely nice! That's one of my favorite games!

It's exciting to share some of my favorite moments from the festival with you all. Experiences like these remind me of why I fell in love with fantasy and storytelling in the first place.

Now, let's talk about something spooky! 👻🎃

If you read last week's blog post, you probably read the sneak peek of my upcoming short story, Landfall!

Well, I have a little announcement!

My goal is to have Landfall completely finished by the end of October! And since Halloween is right around the corner, I thought, why not make it a little Halloween special for my Little Leaves?

For those who may not know, Landfall is a prequel to my upcoming novel, Dead on the Gulf. The story takes places in Galveston, Texas, where a devastating hurricane brings something much worse than flooding.

I don't want to give too much away just yet, but I will say this: the storm is only the beginning.

I'm hoping to have this spooky little story ready for you all just in time for Halloween!

Well... between exploring magical worlds and creating terrifying ones of my own, October has definitely been an exciting month!

Thank you all for continuing to support my writing journey, reading my blog, and following along as I work toward my dreams.

Stay safe, stay spooky, and I'll see you next time, Little Leaves! 🍂🤍
